Who we are
SabiHire is Nigeria's job marketplace. We connect job seekers with employers who have checked their credentials, and we check every vacancy before it goes live.
What we collect
- To sign up: your email, and whether you're looking for work or hiring. Nothing else is mandatory.
- Job seekers add: name, phone, location, industries you're interested in, and a CV or video if you want
- Employers add: company name, CAC certificate, and the details of the roles they post
- SabiHire Pro pilot users add: name, email and phone; customers may add a service description, preferred visit time and street address, while professionals may add a service profile, coverage area and listed price
- Everyone: your IP address and browser when you visit (standard web traffic)
What we do with it
- Match job seekers to roles in their cities and industries
- Send a daily digest email listing new vacancies for you
- Let employers contact applicants (reply-to goes straight to you)
- Check employer credentials against the CAC register
- Stop scams and multi-level marketing schemes from using the site
- Investigate reports of fraud
- Show approved SabiHire Pro listings, deliver customer service requests to the selected professional, and let the parties track their request
We never sell your data. We don't sell access to the job seeker list. A recruiter or headhunter cannot buy your email. Your CV is only visible to employers whose vacancies you apply to.
How long we keep it
- Account and profile data: until you ask us to delete it
- Sign-in sessions: 30 days, then automatically removed
- Password reset links: one hour, single use, then deleted
- Uploaded CVs and videos: until you replace or delete them, or delete your account
- SabiHire Pro service requests and addresses: while the request or account is active, subject to deletion requests and any records we must retain
How we protect it
- Passwords are hashed with scrypt and a unique salt for each person. A stolen database still would not reveal anyone's password.
- Password reset links are stored only as a hash, so the database cannot be used to reset anyone's password.
- Changing your password signs you out everywhere else.
- CVs and videos are never on a public web address - every request is checked against who is asking.
- Pro request details and street addresses are available to the customer, the selected professional and SabiHire admins, not in public listings.
No system is perfectly secure. If we ever discover a breach affecting your data, we will tell you.
Your rights
Under the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 you can ask us to:
- Show you the personal data we hold about you
- Correct anything wrong - most of it you can edit yourself in settings
- Delete your account and everything attached to it
- Stop sending you job alerts, without closing your account

Cookies and similar
To keep you signed in we store a session token in your browser's local storage. Clearing your browser data signs you out.
SabiHire Pro pilot sign-in uses a separate, secure, HttpOnly browser cookie. It expires after 30 days or when you sign out; changing your password also ends Pro sessions.
Vacancy performance counts
We keep aggregate counts of vacancy page views and application-button clicks so employers can understand interest in their own listings. These counters do not store visitor identities or individual browsing histories. They are separate from optional Google Analytics and from applications you submit.
Optional website analytics
With your permission, we use Google Analytics to measure visits and actions such as application-link clicks, WhatsApp joins and starting an alert signup. We do not send form contents or email addresses as analytics events. Query parameters are removed from the page URL sent to Analytics, except numeric public vacancy IDs. Analytics does not load until you accept. You can decline or change your choice using Analytics preferences in the footer.
Advertising
We use Google AdSense on public content pages. When ads are enabled, Google and its partners may use cookies or similar identifiers to serve, personalize and measure ads, including using information about visits to this and other websites. Where required, consent is requested before these technologies are used.

Children
SabiHire is not for anyone under 16. If you believe a child has created an account, tell us and we will remove it.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top. For anything significant, we will email you.
